Why is it so hard to let go of someone you once loved?

The thought of them haunts me.

Do you ever ask yourself why you can't let go?

I think i might have an answer for you.

We find it hard to let go of things we once loved, or maybe still even love, because we're still hoping that one day, everything will go back to how it used to be.

We find it hard to let go of someone we once loved, because they once made us happy, not just any kind of happy, but genuinely & purely happy.

Don’t hope for something to instantly go back to how it used to be.
The truth is, you can’t. But we still don’t listen. We still hope to the highest hopes possible, for them to come back running into our arms and say “I’m back, my home”

But who can blame you for grieving? It really is to let go of someone who once made you the happiest person to ever stand on this earth.

I can't blame you for finding hard to let go of someone who made you feel like your existence is worth more than the universe itself.

You don't have to fully forget someone or something in order for you to move forward, keep them in your memories, treasure the moments you've spent together and store them in your memories.

It's okay if you can't let go at the moment, it's okay to grieve, it's okay to take your time, it's okay to breathe, it's okay to feel what you feel, it's okay to not be okay.

One day, you’ll smile and say "I’m not haunted by the thought of you anymore"
