Dear Dad,
I don’t know why you became the person that you are. You weren’t meant to be my first heartbreak; instead, you were meant to teach me how to love. However, why?
Father, please treat us kinder. You've been shielded from "love" by them, I know, but would you kindly let us inside your heart?
You’re not a bad father; you were just raised in a household where the concepts of love and attention were unknown to you because your parents were too blind to see the kindness that resides deep within you.
But we weren’t the ones who hurt you dad, why?
Knowing what it felt like, how can you treat your own blood so cruelly? Why relive history twice?
It doesn't matter, dad; they will never be able to make me hate you. It's okay. All I want to know is why.
How I wish you could see us as your ally, and not as your enemy.
We will continue to love you even if you spend the rest of your life hating us.
Everything’s okay now dad, you don’t have to go through all those anymore, you’re with us now, you’re safe.
But, how I wish we can feel safe within your presence too.
If only I could give you a hug when you were younger, I would do so with all of my might and protection, making sure they could never harm you again.
I will give you my everything, dad. I truly love you, and I will always be waiting for you to let us into your heart.
